Wonderful Kenny School artists,
I miss our studio time together. As we all remain home, please enjoy exploring Artistic Foundations on the web sites provided below.
In “sumopaint” experiment with the different tools to create artworks. I especially would love to see some of your radial symmetry creations (my favorite tool).
In the Minneapolis Institute of Art’s “Toolkit” you have the opportunity to review the Elements of Visual Art. Take your time to “Watch, Find, and Create” within the different Visual Elements/Principles.
Learn and have fun.

Want to save money and create your own materials? You can mix up a batch of sidewalk paint with items you may have at home. Here is a great recipe for sidewalk paint that will inspire the young and old.
½ cup of water ½ cup of cornstarch
Approximately 12 drops of food coloring — this can be adjusted to achieve desired color
Jar with a lid (For safety, I like the ice cream/gelato plastic jars and lids-eat the contents first. We need to suffer for our art)
Paint brushes, foam brushes or sponges
Mix all ingredients into a sealed jar and shake well. You can make several colors this way, using individual jars.
If the paint appears dry, add a few more drops of water.
Grate about 1 inch of chalk off each large stick.
Add 1 Tablespoon of water to the now powder chalk.
The large sticks were easier to grate than the small thin ones, (or crush/smash in baggie, little chalk ends)
Primary colors plus white best for limited work, and best painting and blending..
