The curriculum taught during Media class is centered on the MEMO (Minnesota Educational Media Organization) Standards. Some of the skills students learn in the media center and computer lab include: basic computer operations, painting and drawing, keyboarding, word processing, Internet usage, research tools and protocol, responsible use and safety, and basic multimedia. Students also participate in author and genre studies, read alouds, learn about national and local book awards (Newbery, Caldecott, Maud Hart Lovelace) and write book reviews, among other things.
