Our Composting Program
Mr. Lee and Mr. Kelly (Mr. Lee’s student teacher) worked hard to complete the building of our newcompost bin for the gardens. Mr. Kelly has been going into classrooms throughout the school to teach all the Kenny students about the importance of composting and what happens to the food (only plant matter) that we put into the compost bin. He even showed the students what the compost looks, feels and smells like. The kids think that it is all pretty cool and all want to help out. We started a compost program in our lunch room and students will be putting their compostable materials into a bucket in the lunchroom after lunch and it will then be put into our compost bin outside.
