Budget Allocation for 2017-2018 (Click here)
Monday, April 03, 2017 7:40 AM

Kenny School has received its budget allocation for the 2017-2018 school year.  Due to overspending by the district for several years, schools are receiving a 2.5% budget decrease as Superintendent Graff works to get the district back on track.  Pushing all of our current programming forward using the 17-18 costs, our school is short $105,211 and will lose our half time Math Specialist.  We will work to be extremely creative in planning for next year.  Please see the link if you are interested in seeing the numbers: 2017-2018 Site Council Budget Packet

Connecting People, Communities, & the Natural World (Click on title to view recent pictures of our students!)

Eagle Bluff is a private, non-profit residential environmental learning center located in the beautiful bluff-country of southeast Minnesota that provides experiences which empowers people to take care of the earth and each other. Let's get our kids back to nature!

  • Eagle Bluff is not a camp, but rather an accredited, special function outdoor school with a staff of licensed teachers and highly trained naturalists. The program in which your students are participating is part of their school curriculum with academic content as well as life skills that can foster a sense of community and understanding through students’ interactions with peers and teachers.
  • Eagle Bluff offers many quality educational experiences for youth.  Through dynamic classes in an outdoor setting, Eagle Bluff's accredited residential learning program enhances a student's education in a way that is simply not duplicated in a classroom. Students come with their teachers and chaperones to stay for three days during the week. Students are immersed in full days of environmental science, outdoor recreation, team-building or cultural programming.

Some of the Environmental Science Classes our students will participate in are Animal Signs, Big Freeze and Birds. They will also participate in some history classes such as Oneota Native American Life and Pioneer Life. The Outdoor Adventure and Team Challenge classes such as Archery, Winter Survival, Group Challenges, Rock Climbing and Tree Tops High Ropes course are always the top favorites! The students will be challenged by these courses and will learn a lot about themselves and how far they could push themselves. Kenny students will come home with a better appreciation of their natural world and we hope that they will take with them a better understanding of their role in helping take care of our world. Please check out the link to the Eagle Bluff web site to learn more about this wonderful program!
