Saturday, May 2 8:30am-11:00am

Kenny families and neighbors, please join us on May 2 for our annual spring clean up of Kenny's four beautiful gardens!
Just a couple hours of spring maintenance helps our gardens thrive all summer and fall.

Check in at 8:30 at the school entrance, grab a doughnut, then spend a couple hours raking and weeding.  We'll supply compost bags, but please bring garden gloves, rakes, weeding tools and garden carts or wheelbarrows if you have them!

This is a family-friendly volunteer opportunity and we look forward to seeing you!  Please RSVP to Chris Breva-Erickson by April 30.

Budget Update
Thursday, March 05, 2015 11:10 AM

Allocations from district are coming out Friday.

Unfortunately, we lost our Title 1 funding. Title 1 funding is based on Free and Reduced Lunch as of 10-1-1914. This year we were very close, but fell below the 35%.threshhold.

The district is moving toward student based allocations in the next 2 years. Schools are not supposed to be impacted by more than 5% either way, we are hoping to be within 5% of last years bottom line.

At Kenny we work within providing minimal programming and safe environment. We have a great literacy program and are implementing new math models. We match these intervention programs with safety positions (lunch/recess).

We have 16 classrooms this year. ASD money and Title 1 money are restricted for those uses only.

Next year we may be allocated 17 classrooms and the district is looking at reduced class sizes in K-3. Since we do not have space at Kenny for many additional classrooms, we might be able to retain some of those funds as intervention money.

The final budget will be submitted before spring break.
